Powerplay and Mental Training for grassroots football

MATCHDAY 2 | ONE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

The second matchday of OneFC Junior Edition 2 marked a key development with the tournament's extension from six to seven matchdays, enhancing its status as a youth football league. This seven-week championship features teams from across South India competing for titles in various age categories.


Matchday 2 debuted use of OneFC Powerplay, a strategic element allowing teams to earn five points for a win or lose two points for a loss. This feature was activated by CR7 SS in the U8 match against V Soccer School, CR7 SS winning 5-1; and by AI Football Academy in the U12 match against Esperion FC, where AIFA won 10-3. Both winning teams benefitting from their use of OneFC Powerplay.


Continuing on the OneFC matchday themes - Matchday 2 featured Mental Dugout 2.0 - Mental Training sessions led by Ms. Hindola Kanala, Founder of Mind Lead, Sports Psychologist for Indian Archery, Olympic Athletes and Cricketers, speak and engage with the players.

Players were trained on mental awareness and sharpness both on & off the pitch.


The third matchday scheduled for 8th Feb will conclude group stages and qualification of teams to the pot stages in the U10 and U12 categories
